I love this question. I think he thought he was doing what was best for everyone. He didn't want to leave his aunt behind. He also felt responsible to protect his family.

mg and ch, I think Mudoch "flaked out" on Matt and Emmy because he knew it was 1. not his problem and 2.there is not much he can do to help them because Nikki would of taken him to court and won, then try to hurt him.
I found it amazing that Matt didn't give up after a while, and continued to try to escape. I believe if I had been in his shoes I would ave ended up like Callie, who seemed to have lost hope in Matt and his plans.
so..... do you think Nikki was abused when she was a child? and that is what lead her to be violent with her own children? -------------------------------------------------- Do you think that Nikki is mentally ill? Do you think that she is just doing what she does for her children because she thinks its best for them?
Here is are some hard questions: Where Is Callie's Father During It All? How Did Nikki 'get him'? Who (other than Nikki) do you think is at fault? Why does Nikki beat on her kids and talk to them as if they are some people she met on the street?
