Explain why Emmy prayed for Murdoch. Do you think she realized the effect that it would have on her mother? How might their lives have been different if she had just gone to bed that night?
CH and MG Think that it was a turning point and Emmy was turning on her mother... If Emmy just went to bed I don't think that Nikki would go after her. CH thinks that Nikki may have thought of herself as the victim in this situation..

I think Emmy knew she would enrage her mother. Because Matt and Callie always tried to protect her, she had no clue how bad her mother could get.
If she had just gone to bed, I do not think they would have been able to get help because I do not think their mother would have gotten so bad. She would have been just bad enough to terrorize the kids, but not bad enough for anyone else to take action against her.
I believed Emmy prayed for Murdoch as a statement to her mother. She knew it would anger her, and that's what she intended. She wanted to show she cared more about Murdoch than Nikki, and Nikki couldn't change that.
